And if anyone says to you at that time, “Look! Here is the Messiah!” or “Look! There he is!”—do not believe it.
False messiahs and false prophets will appear and produce signs and omens, to lead astray, if possible, the elect.
But be alert; I have already told you everything.
‘But in those days, after that suffering,
the sun will be darkened,
and the moon will not give its light,
and the stars will be falling from heaven,
and the powers in the heavens will be shaken.
Then they will see “the Son of Man coming in clouds” with great power and glory. Then he will send out the angels, and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven. Mark 13:21-27
Gather From the Four Winds
This land is holy and we who walk it
know ourselves to never be alone
the ancestors walk with us this day
and surround us with their beauty.
This water is holy for life, for baptism
we know we are surrounded when we dive
deep into these holy waters, holy spaces
we are nestled in the love of our Creator.
Every breath, every exhale is a sacred gift
life being shared and moved beyond us
the visible and invisible dance in the day
dreaming at night of mending the circle.
We might shatter fragile bonds of love
hurl insults to the air, sky and to the sea
yet we only damage ourselves when we do
we leave this sacred circle and mourn.
Yet never far from our discontent is love
never beyond our grasp is new freedom
the holy ones, ancient and present here
gather to teach us to dance the circle again.
