Be joyful in the Lord, all you lands;
serve the Lord with gladness
and come before his presence with a song.
serve the Lord with gladness
and come before his presence with a song.
Know this: The Lord himself is God;
he himself has made us, and we are his;
we are his people and the sheep of his pasture.
he himself has made us, and we are his;
we are his people and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving;
go into his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and call upon his Name.
go into his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and call upon his Name.
For the Lord is good;
his mercy is everlasting;
and his faithfulness endures from age to age. Psalm 100

Auntie,
I wrote a poem last night and wanted to share it with you!
The star insistent and brilliant
this child announcing to all
we shelter in humble places
yet we rejoice in this blessing.
People might see poverty, need
we see the endless hope and love
the heaven's rejoicing with us
the birds and angels singing.
We wandered as strangers here
not abandoned nor hapless but
fearing never being settled again
we found a light for all times.
The winds bring promise untold
we have so much left to understand
like a box in need of unwrapping
our lives held in this babe's hands.
More tomorrow. I am being allowed to sit outside today and take a walk!
It feels like a whole new day, a whole new year, a whole new life!
love,
Mary
